The air quality laboratory at SBi
The air quality laboratory at SBi provides unique opportunities for studying the impact of materials and environment on the perceived air quality in buildings. Its substantial test capacity makes it possible to achieve a very detailed knowledge of pollution from building products used indoors.
The main tasks are sensory and chemical evaluation of the emission or the desorption from samples of building products placed in small test chambers (CLIMPAQs). Independent experiments may be carried out with up to 24 CLIMPAQs operating simultaneously or the set-up may be used for full-scale experiments in the laboratory rooms.
A long-term purpose of the research is to achieve a better foundation for prediction of air quality in real rooms and to provide assistance, when manufacturers are developing low emission construction products.
What can the air quality laboratory be used for?
