Small test chambers (CLIMPAQs)

A CLIMPAQ (Chamber for Laboratory Investigation of Materials, Pollutions and Air Quality) is a test chamber used at many European and Japanese laboratories for small-scale testing of materials specimens of building products under well-defined and controlled conditions.

A CLIMPAQ is made of glass and stainless steel or aluminium and has and inner volume of 50.9 litre. In the CLIMPAQ, physical parameters like air change, temperature and humidity can be varied independently of the surroundings. The air from the CLIMPAQs can be analysed by means of different sensory and chemical methods for analysing the emission for building materials.

For more information about the use of CLIMPAQs, please see the report: Nordtest method - Building materials: Emissions testing using the CLIMPAQ (Nordtest, 1998)

How to order CLIMPAQs
CLIMPAQ test chambers can be ordered by contacting Senior Researcher Henrik N. Knudsen or Senior Researcher Lars Gunnarsen.
