Office lighting based on energy efficient task lighting (off-Lite)
By means of specific examples this projects aims to demonstrate that it is possible to reduce the energy consumption for general lighting and task lighting and at the same time achieve greater user satisfaction. In the demonstration building the installed power for general lighting will be only 5-6 W/m2 (in comparison with the limit of 10 W/m2 for systems on the positive list established by the Danish Electricity Saving Trust), while it will be 1-2 W/m2 for task lighting with an optional automatic control. The project is a supplement to a campaign concerning energy efficient office lighting launched by the Danish Electricity Saving Trust at the end of 2003, as that campaign only covered general lighting. The project results will form an important basis for preparing future specifications of requirements to energy and function for the overall lighting installation in offices, service and institutional buildings.
