Ongoing research project

International cooperation on optimisation of facades and regulating systems

The overall aim of this project is to develop a basis for calculations and a practical basis for the optimum choice of solar shadings and integrated regulating strategies for new and renovated buildings such as office, commercial and institutional buildings.

Moreover the project is an ideal background for participation in IEA SH&C Task 31, as the planned work corresponds closely with two of its two main activities:

- Subtask A: User Perspectives and Requirements

- Subtask B: Integration and Optimisation of Daylighting Systems

Participation in the international cooperation project will give a lift to the national project and ensure the continued Danish links to the important international research network. This network has been built up over the past 8 years to the benefit of the development of the Danish building industry by using improved facade solutions.

The results of IEA Task 31 will be communicated via international reports, calculation tools as well as documentation and information on the Internet. The main results will be described in articles aimed at the Danish building industry just as all relevant information will be made available via web sites. As part of disseminating the results, 2-3 workshops will be held with a reference group representing the Danish building industry.
