Natural ventilation at Copenhagen University. Evaluation
This project is Phase 2 of a project the aim of which is to evaluate new concepts and control strategies for natural and hybrid ventilation. The project is carried out in the new buildings belonging to the Faculty of Humanities (KUA) at the University of Copenhagen.
In Phase 2, technical solutions and control strategies, developed in Phase 1, will be evaluated. These evaluations will include measurements of energy consumption, indoor climate and user satisfaction. The user satisfaction will be compared with the conditions in the users’ present buildings. Measurements of comfort and energy consumption in naturally ventilated rooms will be compared with corresponding measurements of a reference system based on traditional mechanical ventilation in new buildings. The main SBi contribution to the project is the implementation of surveys of user satisfaction. Based on these surveys the solutions will be evaluated and the results will be published to be used in future projects with natural and hybrid ventilation.
The project is a significant supplement to already launched initiatives for development of dimensioning methods and control strategies, which are to bring the solutions into practical use in the building industry.
