EPI-SoHo. Methods for cost-efficient energy labelling of social housing

EPI-SoHo is an EU project related to Intelligent Energy – Europe, IEE. EPI-SoHo is short for Energy Performance Integration in Social Housing.

The project aims to improve energy efficiency in the social housing stock within the EU and to contribute to a raising of the housing standard and environmental aspects in general. Based on experience and existing methods and tools that are spin-offs from previous EU projects and national research and development projects, EPI-SoHo focuses on

-  Developing methods for cost-efficient large-scale energy labelling of a large number buildings

-  Integrating energy efficiency in the social housing sector's strategic planning

-  Developing common structures among local authorities, social housing associations and the private sector related to sustainability

The project consists of 9 Work Packages. SBi chairs WP5, which is about the implementation of about 9000 National Pilot projects. However, no pilot projects are carried out in Denmark. SBi's role in WP5 is to supervise the partners' execution of the pilot projects, to ensure that the promised number of pilot projects are carried out in the individual participant countries and that the pilot projects are executed in agreementwith the objective of the project and also in accordance with the EU contract. The pilot projects conclude with a number of national reports and a final summarizing evaluation report.

Target group

The primary target group includes managers in the social housing sector, local authorities responsible for energy policy and other professional owners of housing stock- buildings for housing. The second target group includes national politicians, professionals and technicians actively engaged in energy saving measures in buildings and European politicians that are directly involved in the implementation of EPBD (EU Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings).
