Energy services in Denmark
This project aims to contribute to the exploitation of the
great potential for energy saving in public buildings, in industry and
the service sector by providing an improved basis for decision-making
for providers of energy services (energy services companies) and for
building owners. The EU's 'Directive on energy end-use efficiency and
energy services' indicates that the construction sector is the sector
where the biggest unexploited market for energy services and energy
efficiency improvement can be found. It is therefore the intention to
look at investments in energy saving measures that have a longer
pay-back time than the 5 years stipulated in a government circular on
energy efficiency improvement in public institutions. Neither public
nor private companies can see any immediate advantage in investing in
such measure themselves, but they have a sound socio-economic
effect.
The purpose is to demonstrate a 'market-oriented
energy-saving initiative' for investments that are normally avoided by
building owners.
The project is related to Denmark's international
cooperation in IEA and EU. Annex 46 is a new
cooperation project within the IEA ECBCS agreement where Denmark
traditionally plays an active role. The project is closely connected
with the proposal for the EU Parliament and Commission on energy
end-use efficiency and energy services
Target group
